What is Topple-tin-can ?
Topple-tin-can or known as "baling tin game" by the Malaysian people is a traditional games usually played among the Malay people. This games somehow started played by the youngster below 12 years old, however, since this game brings enjoyment, the elders also not ashamed to play it.
Topple-tin-can does not gives any injuries to the players but if the players throw the ball too hard at the person, the person might have slightly injuries such as bruises.
There is no any rules or attire while playing this game, people can play this game by knowing the steps and only wearing 'kain batik'.
There are also other traditional games such as Getah Para, Congkak,and many more, but this blog are more focusing on the traditional game, Topple-tin-can, as it is very seldom heard by most people and this game seems to have lack of attention from children nowadays.
WAU ( Kite )
What is Wau ?
A wau is a traditional kite that is especially popular in the state of Kelantan on the East Coast of Malaysia.
To make a wau, you can only used thread, skewers and any cloth that are coloured or plain. There are people who used newspaper to make a wau as it save more budget but not long lasting.
Traditionally flown after the rice harvest season, these giant kites are often as big as a man - measuring about 3.5 metres from head to tail. It is called wau because its shape is similar to the Arabic letter that is pronounced as 'wow'.
With vibrant colours and patterns based on local floral and fauna, these kites are truly splendid sights.
BATU SEREMBAN
What is Batu Seremban?
Batu
seremban or five stones is a game originally played by girls. This is
an easier game to play compare to congkak because it only needs five
stones or five round objects to play with.
You can either play with five, seven
or nine objects determining to what type of game you are playing.
The objective of the game is to throw one of the stones one at a time and
sweeping another on the floor simultaneously catching the one you threw earlier
on. This game continues to advance stages where the game gets complicated.
This
game is enjoyed by all sex nowadays no matter whether you’re old or young you
can still play this game and have fun.
